Andrea Congdon, RHYI:
Andrea has enjoyed practicing yoga since 2003 as a form of stress reduction, beginning when her son who has autism started preschool. In 2010, Andrea began attending Holy Yoga classes in Washington Cathedral. She was grateful to have found a way to combine her love of yoga with her Christian spirituality. Wanting to deepen her spiritual life as well as to increase her knowledge of yoga, she entered the Holy Yoga training program in 2011. Since then, she has completed many hours of additional yoga training. Andrea now teaches Sunday evening Holy Yoga classes at her church St Jude in Redmond, as well as weekday classes at Bellevue Presbyterian. In addition to teaching yoga, Andrea is very involved in the Special Needs community. She coordinates Sibshops, workshops for children who have a brother or sister with special needs. And for parents, she leads weekly stress-reduction Caregiver Yoga classes. Contact Andrea if you are interested in learning more about herHoly Yoga or Caregiver Yoga Classes. email@example.com
Debi Raines, RHYI, RRWI:
Debi has had a passion for health and fitness since she was young. Growing up in a family where health was a focus (her mom was a body builder and worked at a gym for years), fitness and eating right have always been part of her life. Debi discovered a love for yoga 20 years ago but really found a deep joy when God led her to Holy Yoga. Debi was certified as a Holy Yoga instructor in August of 2008 and has been teaching at, Washington Cathedral in Redmond ever since. Combining her faith and fitness is an answered prayer. She believes Jesus should be a part of every part of our lives, not just Sundays, so speaking scripture in class and praying for students brings warmth to her heart. More recently, Debi got her group fitness certification through Revelation Wellness (May 2011), again combining Jesus with health. Leading Revelation Fitness Boot camp classes has quickly become a favorite. Sometimes people need to slow down and stretch and sometimes people need to get up and move. Through Revelation Fitness and Holy Yoga, she can offer both. Debi lives in Redmond WA with her amazing husband of 20+ years, three beautiful teen children, Rachel, Jacob& Katie and attends St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Woodinville . Her faith and family are the most important things in her life. firstname.lastname@example.org
Nanette Nelson, RHYI:
I have been a yoga enthusiast for as long as I can remember. But I had always felt that there was something missing in my practice and also felt it conflicted with my relationship with Jesus. Thankfully Kathi Myron introduced me to Holy Yoga and I became a Holy Yoga certified instructor. Andrea and I just celebrated our two year anniversary as Holy Yoga instructors! It has deepened my faith and has taught me the importance of a Christian community "family" where we can share our faith and take care of the bodies we have been blessed with.
The Lord brought Holy Yoga into my life at the perfect time! My husband Chuck and I became empty nesters two years ago. Our daughter Emma graduated from college and is living in Portland and our son Quin is in his second year at Whitman College. I continue to marvel at God's plans for our lives .
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.
Come join me on Wed. mornings, 9:15-10:15am for Gentle Yoga at Washington Cathedral and Flow Yoga at Archbishop Murphy High School at 3:15-4:15pm.
Kim Taylor, RHYI:
In 1999 I graduated from massage school and shortly thereafter was introduced to yoga for the first time. I was amazed at how different Yoga was than any other exercise I had tried. The benefits to my mind and body were transformational. Yoga helped my body recover from injury and trauma. It wasn't until 2010 that I was blessed to discover Holy Yoga. This added a whole new dimension- my spiritual devotion- to practicing yoga. I am thankful to be sharing the gift of Holy Yoga with others. email@example.com
Pam Jackson, RRWI:
My true loves in this world are my sweet husband and my beautiful daughters. My God and my family have always come first in my life. I consider myself a slow grower… Very cautious and careful, in all I do. I have been a believer for over 20 years but still see myself as an infant in my faith. I have always had a love for running, sports and fitness, but have never felt called to go beyond my own personal goals. So, when I found Revelation Fitness and started the Bible Study that accompanied the training- I felt like a lost puzzle piece that had finally found a place. I knew instantly that this was God’s plan- not mine, because with this training came sacrifice and courage. Courage to step out in Faith and to Trust that through this ministry God was going to use me to reach people, to use me to love and to lead His people. And Faith that He was going to give me the heart and knowledge that I would need to help others succeed and overcome firstname.lastname@example.org.
My name is Teanna Gentry and I am a native of Washington state with a love for the outdoors, Jesus, and yoga! A little bit about me...I was a collegiate track athlete for four years and then went on to get my Master's in Sports Management and have been living in the greater Seattle area since 2008. I have been practicing yoga for over 4 years and recently was introduced to Holy Yoga and realized very quickly how wonderfully perfect the combination of worshiping Jesus and practicing yoga went hand in hand. I am excited to have recently become certified to teach Pre/Post Natal Yoga to women in the area, and am currently in the process of starting the 200hr Holy Yoga Instructor training this Spring. Blessings!
2 Timothy 1:7
For the Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of love and power and of a sound mind.
